WHEATGRASS INFORMATION AND FACTS

Filed under: Health & Lifestyle, Nutrition — WorkerBee @ 11:48 pm

Wheatgrass juice, made from sprounted wheat berries, is said to be high in chlorophyll. Wheatgrass takes 10-12 days to grow before juicing and it needs special care that sprouts do not.

Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass was not used this way until the 1930s, so it has not been used for centuries, and essentially that was a self-defeating argument. Wheatgrass juice has been successfully used to treat anemia in humans. Wheatgrass has been shown to expand the blood vessels and improve circulation; this improves oxygenation of blood and the ability to rid the blood of toxins.

Health

Although no research exists that directly connects chlorophyll with blood building, many nutrients associated with dark green leafy vegetables have been shown to be important for healthy blood. It has been reported that Chlorophyll has regenerative properties and studies have supported its power as an immune booster, free radical fighter, energizer and promoter of healthy circulation.

Chlorophyll

Chlorophyll is a functional chemical in plants that helps them turn the sun’s rays into glucose. Chlorophyll is antibacterial and can be used inside and outside the body as a healer. Chlorophyll is the closest known substance to human blood the main difference is blood is iron base and wheatgrass chlorophyll is magnesium base. In experiments with anemic animals, their blood count returned to normal after four to five days of receiving chlorophyll.

Wheatgrass juice revitalizes and energizes humans, and it can do the same for companion birds. Wheatgrass contains as much Vitamin A as carrots, as much Vitamin C as citrus fruits, and ample supplies of Vitamin E and B complex vitamins. Wheatgrass has potassium, which is an essential ingredient in metabolizing calcium. Wheatgrass is an excellent source of calcium and it has other minerals that are necessary for the body to use it. Wheatgrass is ready to juice in 8-15 days,(depending on the growing temperature). Wheatgrass has high levels of chlorophyll and powerful detoxifying abilities.
